Yellowstone Bourbon was established in 1872 by J.B. Dant (son of J.W. Dant), D.H. Taylor, and J.T. Williams, named in honor of the newly created Yellowstone National Park. By the mid-20th century, under Glenmore Distillery’s ownership, it became Kentucky’s top-selling bourbon, notably with its “Mellow Mash” expression. However, the brand’s prominence waned in the 1970s, leading to multiple ownership changes. In 1993, Luxco acquired Yellowstone, and in 2011, partnered with Stephen and Paul Beam—descendants of both the Dant and Beam families—to revive the brand at Limestone Branch Distillery in Lebanon, Kentucky. Today, Yellowstone offers a range of expressions, including the flagship Yellowstone Select, Small Batch 107, and limited editions finished in various casks, continuing its legacy by blending tradition with innovation.
