Three Keys Distillery, founded in 2016 by native Kentuckian Jessica Banish in Burlington, Kentucky, stands as one of the state’s few female-owned-and-operated bourbon distilleries. Inspired by her heritage and a desire to honor Kentucky’s bourbon traditions, Banish established the distillery in the historic J.W. Kite store, built in 1872, which still graces the property today. The name “Three Keys” symbolizes a legacy for her three sons, reflecting a commitment to family and tradition. The distillery produces small-batch and cask-strength bourbons using locally sourced ingredients and time-honored methods. Their Small Batch Cask Strength Bourbon, with a mash bill of 70% corn, 21% rye, and 9% malted barley, has received accolades such as a Double Gold at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and a 93 rating at the 2023 Ultimate Spirits Challenge. Three Keys continues to contribute to Kentucky’s bourbon heritage, blending historical reverence with modern craftsmanship.
